"I have been employed with Mainstream Services, Inc. since May of 2005 as a parent. Then in December of 2005 I came to the office as an Administrative Assistant.
I have a 28year old daughter with Rett Syndrome, Rachel. She was diagnosed when she was 3 years old and her younger years were spent in the Wayne County School system. As she got older my concerns for her after she could no longer attend school grew. There was a meeting of some parents at Spring Valley High School when she was about 14 concerning a new agency which had dreams of opening a day program for older adults with mental and physical disabilities. One of the parents there was Deana Prince. I had kept in touch with Deana concerning this agency. When it opened I was excited to be a part of it. Rachel has been attending the academy since it opened, and some of the others that attend, she has known since she was 3.
I am proud to be a part of Mainstream Services both as a parent, and employee. It is great to see how it has grown and the service it provides for our consumers, and community. I am also excited to see what the future holds for Mainstream. I am also excited for the vision a few parents had so long ago to come true."
